Mothers

A Mother's role is multifaceted; this might oscillate from being a wife, parent,  daughter,  sister to being an employee or employer. In this challenging and busy period, where family dynamics are constantly changing, how do you see yourself and your role? To start with, the role of a mother is a desirable one that is God-given, therefore, it is one that you cannot fulfil with ordinary strength. You need to see your life through Christ's eyes and in order to fulfil your responsibility as a mother, you need to know who you are in Christ. Mothers are custodian's of God's heritage, and this suggests that you are highly regarded by God. You have what it takes to look after God's heritage, and even if you think you dont have what it takes, you know that you must find a way of taking great care of God's heritage.

The children that God have committed in oyour care have their own minds, so dont think motherhood is a walk in the park. But, together with other mothers,  you can boldly approach the throne of grace where mercy and grace can be obtained for the effective fulfillment of this role. Be patient with yourself, be courageous, love yourself, love your child and don't give up on your child. 

Single Mothers

The first thing that I would say to you is to stop blaming yourself. You deserve to be happy and to enjoy your life. Release yourself into God's arms and let Him embrace you. God wants to simplify this period of your life if only you will allow Him. As a single mother in Christ, you are  a partner with God. You are not alone; God is with you as the Senior partner and the burden bearer. I pray that you will find love, grace, comfort, peace, joy, and hope in Him.

Expectant Mothers

What a joy and privilege to carry your baby/babies in the womb! It is a moment to be enjoyed. Yes! A moment to be enjoyed, even in the midst of the morning sicknesses and cramps. The Lord who started the good work in you is able to complete it.

Supporting your husband in ministry is honourable as you advance God's Kingdom together with your husband. It is a demanding and rewarding role.

Proverbs 31:31

Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

A Mother's Prayer

Dear Lord, I thank you for being gracious to me.

Thank you for entrusting your heritage into my hands.

Father, give me the wisdom, strength and grace to care

for my children in a way that will be pleasing to you.

Let your love, peace and joy fill my home. In Jesus Christ's name I have prayed. Amen

Mother's Prayer

I declare and confess that my children are living stones in God's hands and they are being built into God's spiritual house and His holy priesthood. As they offer sacrifices of praise to God, they will be acceptable in His sight through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Mother's Prayer

According to this scripture,  I declare concerning my children (put name) that surely my child's salvation is coming and now is the time. Open my child's eye to see the salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ and give him/her the grace to embrace it. My child (insert name) shall be called, "the holy people, the redeemed of the Lord, sought after, a city not forsaken.

 

Prayer for God's Guidance and Protection

I commit my child into the able hands of God Almighty today and always. I ask that the Lord will guide, protect and pilot you in the right direction as you go out. Your Joy shall be full as you step out . May the Lord fill any emptiness or worry in your life and give you peace. I decree your life will experience divine visitation and God's intervention. You will not miss your hour of miracle. Every challenging situation in your life shall experience a positive turnaround. Wherever you may be today and always, l ask that God will release His ministering angels to minister to your needs. Men and women shall compete to bless you by the Grace of God.

 

Prayer for Academic Success

Father I lift up my child/children in relation to preparing for or currently sitting for exams. I pray that you would endow them with exceptional understanding, knowledge and wisdom. I pray that the Spirit of excellence will work with them. Lord I ask that you would expand my child's mind and their capacity to retain knowledge. Lord give my child exceptional abilities to express themselves through writing, speaking and practicals. I am thankful for exceptionally excellent results, in Jesus name Amen.

Equipping Mothers

God intends that parenting responsibilities are shared between the father and mother., wherever possible. Mothers have a significant role to play in the life of every child and so do fathers. As a mother, I want you to know that you are raising a valuable, worthy and honourable resource on this earth - new human beings. Today, the success of the next generation is your hands. How are you preparing the next generation? 

Williams Ross Wallace in his poem cconfidently declared that a mother occupies a prime position in the life of her children. He states: "The Hand That Rocks The Cradle Is The Hand That Rules The World." Today, your child might be so tiny without a voice, you might be raising a king, a priest, a president, a prime minister, or more. 

 

The scriptures below are meant to stimulate your motherhood instinct in the face of challenges. I implore you to influence and speak positive declaration into the lives of your children , and God will help you as you take your rightful place in the life of your child. The first nine months that provided the first habitation for your children provides a template for significant relationship between mother and child. Please take some time to read and reflect on the scriptures below.

Psalm 127:4-5

Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth.Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents.

Proverbs 31:1-9

Mothers in the Bible taught their children unforgettable lessons that helped them to know their worth, value and honour. For instance, King Lemul's mother taught him to do the right things in position of power.

King Lemuel's made a positive contribution to the life of her a King and a whole nation. She made a clear distinction between her son that she holds in high esteem and the rest.

Proverbs 31:1; Songs of Solomon 8:2

I would lead you and bring you to my mother’s house she who has taught me. I would give you spiced wine to drink, the nectar of my pomegranates (Songs of Solomon 8:2).

As a mother, you have a powerful influence over your children 

2 Timothy 1:5

One of life's greatest blessing is to live a godly life that is worthy of emulation by your children.

 

My mouth is a wellspring of life declaring positive things into the lives of my children. I affirm that my children are eternal excellence, joy of many generations. My children are for signs and wonders; above only and not beneath. Kings shall come to the brightness of my children's light.
